Celeros Newbury Apprentice Scheme

04/14/22

Celeros are offering a great opportunity to gain a level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard, in a company with a long standing, successful Apprenticeship Scheme, with multiple generations of families attending this apprenticeship scheme. The apprenticeship scheme shows you many areas of the business - Scott started as an apprentice in 2008 straight from school and details his experience as one:

"I joined in 2008 straight from school as one of 4 apprentices. As part of the Apprenticeship, I moved into various areas of the business – Assembly bays for various products, Manual & CNC machine areas, Contracts & Aftersales, Internal Projects and completed the Apprenticeship in Purchasing, where at different times, I bought all products across all the brands based here at Newbury - Fabricated items, castings, machined components, seals, fastener equipment and handled external processes like plating, coating and heat treatments.

I was fortunate to get the opportunity to join the Sales team a little over 2 years ago, and now sell one of the filtration brands, Airpel, into various industries across the world."

-Scott Brown, Inside Sales & Applications Engineer

Highly skilled Mentors teach you competencies in quality inspection & assurance, quality control and Lean/Continuous Improvement with the documentation to support. The Level Engineering Technician Standard is delivered through one day a week training at Basingstoke College and work place training and reviews with WBTC. Celeros has a rich history of providing higher level, and on-going training available to the right candidates; Cheryl started as an apprentice and shows how opportunities arise regularly at Celeros:

"I started working with the company as an 18-year-old following a technical apprenticeship route in the engineering team achieving ONC and HNC in mechanical engineering through day release at college.

After becoming a qualified design engineer, I had the opportunity to experience other areas of the business which led to management roles in engineering, projects and as post order site lead including manufacturing. At Celeros, the business is continually evolving, and employees are given the opportunity to evolve with it.

I have been in my current role for 2 years with responsibility for 3 UK sites, Killarney in Ireland, and Ocala in Florida. I have a great team of project managers and engineers and learn new things every week which continue to help me develop both personally and professionally."

-Cheryl Barrick, Director of Engineering and Projects (Filtration, Valves and Closures)
